Obituary of DON L. McCANN
Don L. McCann, 85, of El Dorado, died Friday evening, Feb. 18, 2000, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Dennis Kuder officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 24, 1914 in Stockton to Ralph Eugene and Anna (McDOnald) McCann. He graduated from the Augusta High School and from Kansas State Teachers College at Pittsburg. He received his chemical engineering degree from the University of Illinois.

After graduation from college, he returned to Augusta to work for the White Eagle Division of the Mobil Refinery. His 40-year employment took him to Wyoming, Indiana, Holland, New Jersey, Germany and New York.

On July 30, 1938, he married Sarah M. Blair. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1995.

Memberships include the First United Methodist Church at which he served as the church treasurer for a number of year; the Elks Lodge and the El Dorado Country Club where he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by one son, Ralph McCann of St. Peters, Mo. and four grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Don Blair McCann, and one brother.

A memorial has been established for the First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
