| NAME, DATE OF DEATH: Stella Hamel, 83, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at her home DATE OF BIRTH and LOCATION: Feb. 11, 1917, in rural Rooks County PARENTS: Wilfred and Blanche (Burton) Asselin SURVIVORS: Her husband, Arthur L. Hamel, of the home; two sons, Lawrence Hamel, Damar, and Dennis Hamel, Plainville; three daughters, Elaine Brin Befort and Leona Newell, both of Damar, and Linda Leiker, Hays; 31 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: A son, Cleo; two brothers, Jessie and Leonard; two sisters, Natalie Roy and Neleda Hamel; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons |
