NAME, DATE OF DEATH: Verland C. �Rich� Richmond, 83, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at St. Joseph Health Center, Kansas City, Mo.

DATE OF BIRTH and LOCATION: Feb. 16, 1918, on a farm near Codell, Kansas

PARENTS: Ormas and Mary (Gardles) Richmond

SURVIVORS: A son, John W. Doubleday, Overland Park; a daughter, Barbara Walters, Haysville; two sisters, Ruth Goodwin, Hays, and Evelyn Baumgartner, Salina; a brother, Gayle Richmond, Plainville; and seven grandchildren.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His wife, Alice (Jenik) Doubleday, two sisters, Olive Stein and Margaret McKimmon
