Funeral Card for ALVINA CAROLINE STRECKER |
Alvina Caroline, the daughter of August and Mollie
Strecker, nee Michaelis, was born May 17, 1910 on a farm about 15 miles
south of Russell and departed this life at the Russell Hospital on July
12, (1953) at the age of 43 years, one month and 25 days. In early infancy she was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. To this faith she remained steadfast until the end. After attending public school she entered the Russell High School and graduated in 1928. The following year she started teaching. She took special training in Teachers Institutes at Hays and in Colorado, and devoted 25 years to her chosen profession. Her mother preceded her in death on December 3, 1938 and in 1941 the family left the farm and came to Russell. On April 13 of this year she became ill and entered the Russell Hospital for a major operation. It was hoped that this operation would be successful but medical science proved futile and on June 29th she again went to the hospital. Last Sunday at 4:30 p.m., her Master called her to his Father's House of many mansions.
