Funeral Card of EMANUEL STEINERT
Emanuel Steinert, son of John F. and Eva Dumler, was born January 8, 1891 in Russell County, Kansas. He departed this life on earth March 3, 1973 at the Hoisington Lutheran Hospital in Hoisington, Kansas. His age was 82 years, 1 month and 25 days.

Baptized in early infancy and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith, he remained steadfast to his Lord and Savior throughout his lifetime. A long time resident of the farming community around Milberger, he was united in marriage to Lydia Whitman, April 28, 1910, and assumed his occupation as farmer. During the 1918-19 influenza epidemic his wife preceded him in death on January 21, 1919. 

On March 10, 1920, he was again united in marriage to Lydia Wassemiller Steinert at Russell, Kansas. They continued farming in the Milberger area for a number of years and then in 1949 they came to Russell to establish their home at 600 Grant Street. Here also, he soon became a beloved, esteemed and trusted member of the community. After the death of his wife in 1970, he resided at the Homestead Villa in Hoisington.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, a gracious and generous brother, neighbor and friend, his many acts and deeds of love, devotion and kindness, will always be treasured by his family.

Surviving Emanuel are five children, Lewis Steinert of Hays, Kansas; Mrs. Viola Darby, El Monte, California; Leo, Leland and Hubert Steinert, all of Great Bend, Kansas; one brother, Dave Steinert, of Hoisington, Kansas; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, many other near relatives nd a host of friends.

Services: Tuesday, March 6, 1973, from the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Kansas at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert S. Kreir and Pastor G. Weise officiating.
Music: Mr. Clarence Steinert, Soloist Mrs. Rudy Funk, Organist
Casket Bearers: Sidney Steinert, Dale Steinert, Keith Swim, Don Carroll, 
Bernard Moffet, Lynn Sargent
Interment: Milberger Cemetery, Milberger, Kansas
Arrangements by: Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Kansas
