Henry lived nearly his entire life in Russell County. He grew to manhood on the Strecker family farm and received his education in the schools of Russell County. Henry moved to the Stielow homestead south of Paradise to make his home and until he moved to Russell in 1944 he was very involved in his farming and livestock operation.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell where he was baptized as an infant and later confirmed as a young adult. He continued his membership in the church even though he was unable to care for himself and had been residing at the Hoisington Nursing Home since August of 1968.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Minnie, who died on November 9, 1972, his son, Carl, who died as a young man, one brother, Alex Strecker, and two sisters; Mrs. Mollie Michaelis and Mrs. Amelia Weedin.
