Obituary of FLORENCE DUMLER SCHRUBEN
Florence Dumler Schruben, 80, a longtime Russell and Manhattan resident, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Hays.

She was born July 29, 1921, in Barton County, near Milberger, the daughter of Emanuel Keil and Elizabeth Rein Keil.

Florence married Carl A. Dumler, August 23, 1942, at Hugo, Oklahoma. He died, October 10, 1973.

She marred Leonard W. Schruben, January 21, 1979 at Manhattan. He died October 23, 2001.

Florence lived all of her early life in the Milberger area. After marriage she lived on the family farm near Russell. She was a homemaker and for many years associated with the Kansas Wheat Commission with her husband, Carl, taking his position on the board after his death.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Manhattan, and American Legion Auxiliary, Russell.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, a granddaughter, Cindy Atkerson, and three sisters, Beatrice Bergman, Naomi Barah, and Allegra Fisher.

Survivors Include: one son, Carl A. Dumler, Jr., Russell; two step sons, Dale Schruben, Kingsville, Texas and Lee Schruben, Berkley, California; four daughters, Jean Naegele, Hays, Rita Atkerson, Russell, Kay Dinkel, Russell, and Jody Dumler Johnson, Manhattan; one sister, Luella Saxton, Tempe, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, four step grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 11, at St. John Lutheran Church, Russell, with Rev. Henry Hartman officiating.

Burial was at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church, Russell, in care of Pohlman's Mortuary, Russell.
