Obituary of SAMUEL ZWEIFEL |
Samuel Zweifel was born in Waldo, June 8, 1925. He
graduated from Kansas University in 1946 and from the School of Medicine,
University of Kansas, 1949. He married Jeanne Harris, September 12, 1949. They had four children and five grandchildren. Sam, or Dr. Sam, as he was known to all of his friends, practiced medicine in Kingman from 1952 until 1969. He joined the Department of State in 1969 and served as a Medical Officer for the Department of State until his retirement in 1991. He was stationed in Quinto, Ecuador; Pretoria, South Africa; New Delhi, India; Mexico City, Mexico, and Lisbon, Portugal. When serving in the Washington, D.C. area he traveled as a medical officer and traveled most parts of the world, including the Far East, Europe, Africa and South America. Upon retirement he moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Besides his work, his great love was gardening. Every place he lived was more beautiful because of this hobby. Sam is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his sons, Samuel Zweifel and Scott Zweifel; his daughters, Sabra Wagoner and Sarah Sillman; his grand sons, Sam Zweifel, David Zweifel, Robert Sillman, Warren Wagoner, his granddaughter, Janelle Sillman, and his sisters, Sally Schuckman and Doris Whisenant. Sam died February 28, 2002. Donation to his memory may be made to the Arizona Braille and Talking Book Library, 1030 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, Arizona. |
