Frederick J. FREY was born in Davenport, Iowa on June 6, 1864, so was over 51 years old. He came to Paxico in 1878 and it has since been his home except for the time spent in Alma. On April 15, 1896 he was married to Miss Mary Kolde and the widow and four children are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. After serving his home township in various capacities for many years, he was elected sheriff of this county in 1899, which office he filled acceptably and creditably for four years, after which he returned to Paxico and went into business. Fred FREY was a good friend, a popular officer and an excellent citizen. Besides his family, his aged father and one brother, John FREY of Toluca, Ill., survive him. A very large crowd attended his funeral at the Newbury Sacred Heart church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, despite the rain which was falling at that hour. Rev. Father Wieners had charge of the services, the pallbearers were from the Knights of Columbus and the Woodmen attended in a body. His presence will be sadly missed by all, the ENTERPRISE extends it's deepest sympathy. __________________________________________________________
