NEWSPAPER UNKNOWN, 29 August 1932
Obituary of  JONAH MARTIN ELLIOTT
ELLIOTT #2

Jonah Martin ELLIOTT was born in Morris Co., IA Oct 16, 1877 and died at Washington, KS, Aug 29,1932 in the fifty-fifth year of his age.

June 8, 1899 he was happily married to Mary Jennett MOORE, who for thirty-three years has been his faithful companion, sharing life's joys and sorrows with him. She is now left sad and lonely by his sudden
departure.

To them were born four children, Henry Martin of
Hartsburg, MO, Ray Albert of Willow Springs, MO, Carl Alexander of Washington and Burl Russell of Washington. All were present at the funeral. He leaves also, one brother, Andrew ELLIOTT and family of
Washington; one sister, Mrs. Alva OLIPHANT of Washington; two half-sisters, Mrs. Alice THROOP of Morrowville and Mrs. Fred RANDALL of
Seattle, WA.

One sister preceded him in death. He has one aunt, two uncles and many friends who sorrow over his sad departure.

His death falls heaviest on a dear old mother, who has loved him with a mother's love, as only mothers can love, for fifty-five years. The weight of fourscore years rests upon her enfeebled body and she had learned to
lean upon the affectionate arms of her son. Now he is gone.

Mr. ELLIOTT was converted and baptized into the fellowship of the Washington Baptist church Apr 7, 1929. In this church he held the office of Sunday school secretary and was faithful to his trust, regular in his attendance and efficient in his task.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist church in this city Thursday afternoon, Sept 1, conducted by Rev. T.J. DUVALL.
