CHARLES ALOISE SPENNER, Ringwood, Major County, OK birthplace: Baden, Germany birthdate: 16 Sep 1834 died: 1 Jan 1917 He served in CO F, 6th Kansas Cavalry, from Dickinson Co, KS. He received pension # 341748 for his service.
Michael B. Howe. Buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chapman, Kansas Company G, 11th Regiment, Kansas Cavalry Volunteers. Enlisted August 27, 1862 at Junction City, Kansas, honorably discharged Nov 28, 1864.  Born 1826, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.  Died Oct. 5, 1880 Chapman, Kansas.    From his pensionpapers , prior to discharge "he was in the General Hospital at Leavenworth. The wound received was a sprain of the right ankle joint.  The same was produced by a horse falling on me while in the line of duty in the state of Missouri in Price's Raid in that state near Westport, October 19, 1864. FRITZ, Henry Clay b. 8 July 1842 Williamsport, PA m. 24 Dec 1863 Phoebe HURR/HERR. He enlisted 24 Apr 1861 at Williamsport, PA Co A, PA Infantry and discharged 31 July 1861. Again he enlisted: 21 Feb 1865 Co G, 192 Regiment of PA Infantry Volunteer and discharged 24 Aug 1865 at Harpers Ferry, VA. He died

Charles Young, Courter-Ritchey Cemetery near Troy, Doniphan Co., Kansas, 1917. born 1832 in VA came to KS in 1856 where he was married to Elizabeth Merritt in 1857. When he enlisted, he had two children, born in or near Troy, KS. He enlisted on July 18, 1861, in Company D, 13th Regiment Missouri Volunteers.  Charles was buried in Troy, DoniphanCo., Kansas, 1917.  Claudeen Green
Michael Hayes,  was buried in the Olive Branch Cemetery in White Cloud, KS. Home address: White Cloud, Kansas, but lived in Brown County.Born in Ireland in 1830 and came to the US in 1857.  Settled around NY.  In 1863 he joined the NY 69th Irish Brigade and served until the end of the war. He became a citizen of the USA because he honorably served in the Union Army during the Civil War.  He received his citizenship papers in 1889, when James Buchanan  was President.  He moved to White Cloud, KS in 1872  and ended up being a farmer. He and his wife Anna had 6 living children. He died in 1914. Great Grandson, Paul E. Idol of Topeka, KS.
John Frank Kotsch, who was born in 1834 in Bavaria, Germany.  He came to Troy, Kansas, Doniphan County in 1857 and became a shoemaker. At the outbreak of the Civil War he enlisted in 13th Kansas Regiment, Company B on September 1, 186? and on April 1, 1863 was promoted to second lieutenant. He became a first lieutenant on May 27,1863.  He was wounded at the Battle of Prairie Grove when a minnie ball passed through his upper lip and
tore out the roof of his mouth. He also participated in the battles of Pea Ridge, and Cane Hill.  He was mustered out of the service at Little Rock, Arkansas, June 26, 1865 and returned to Troy. He is listed in the Kansas Chief, November 29, 1883, as drawing a Civil War pension of $6 per month.  John Frank is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetary, Troy, Kansas. Sincerely, Carol Kotsch

1913, White Cloud. Married Rachel Ann McKinney. Served in Arkansas  during the Civil War  with General John M. Thayer's Frontier Division during the Red River Campaign/Camden Expedition. Commanded a detachment of  the 14th

Levi/Lee Utt, Capt. Co. A, 7th. Kansas Cavalry. Promoted to Maj. Nov.17,1864. A resident of White Cloud, Doniphan County, Kansas and nephew to Josephus Utt.  Born Nov. 20, 1840, Jersey County, Ill. Died March 21, 1895 San Diego Co. Calif. Married to Sarah M. Gunn. Was wounded in the leg during action against Confederate forces at Leighton, Ala. April, 1863. Lost his leg but returned to duty  with a wooden leg and was nicknamed "timber toes" by his men. He is mentioned several times in the Official Records of the War

William Oscar Booher, buried in the Prairie City Cemetery, Willow Springs Twp., Douglas Co., KS. son of Asa Booher and Mariah Sanders, born abt. 1848 in Guernsey Co., OH. Lived in Jackson Co., MO. but enlisted in the 8th KS Inf. in Co. "F" in 1861 with the rank of Private. James Elizar Carpenter - 1st Sergeant 16th Kansas Cavalry is buried in the Prarie City cemetery just east of Baldwin, Kansas. He was born Jansuary 18, 1830 in Herkimer, New York.  He died in Baldwin, Kansas in 1877.   My great grandfather

JONES, James Cornelius BURIAL UNKNOWN.  B: 29 December, 1825 Wayne Co.,  Ky. D: :01 June 186? Served with Union Cavalry Co "A" 2nd Battalion Mo. S M Cavalry....Rank Possibly Heriditary Companion.Place of burial being researched..  Married in Cass Co., Mo. to Lucinda Buttram.  Issue 3 children. Lucinda is listed as a widow on the 1865 Douglas Co., Ks. census. 
JONES, John Nelson BURIAL UNKNOWN..B:1838    Johnson Co., Indiana-went from his home in Prairie City/Baldwin City, Kansas, to visit his sister, Elizabeth Jones Pleasants (Mrs. John).  He is enumerated on the 1860 census as being in her household.  While on his visit he volunteered for the 2nd Iowa Infantry Volunteers Cavalry Co "G" 2nd Regiment, Enrolled 25 May, 1861 at Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa and served under General James Weaver.  He was wounded 15 February, 1862 during the seige of the battle at Fort Donnelson, Tennesee, and died in a hospital in Mound City, Illinois from his wounds. in 20 March,1862. Rank Corporal/ Place of burial being researched. Never married No issue.

"L" Kansas Cavalry during Civil War. Rank Private. Wounded 10 August,1861at Wilsons Creek, Missouri.   Eventually died of complications of wounds 19 December,1866  Married 1/Mary Frances Fowler issue 1, 2/Rebecca Graham.  issue 4 or 5 .

James Elizar Carpenter b. 1830 Herkimer County, New York.  Died 1877 Baldwin City, Kansas.  Buried at Calvary Cemetery (Prairie City Cemetery).   James Carpenter was a 1st Sergent in the 16th Kansas Cavalry, Company L.  He moved to Douglas County, Kansas in 1854.  His wife Rebecca and infant son Charles accompanied him from Jersey County, Illinois.  They settled 1 mile south of Baldwin City.  The family owned the 160 acres until 1901.  mailto:Truck50jc@aol.com
