Peter Martin STAMP, Born 14 September 1840 in Muskingum County, OH, and Died 3 April 1909 in Florence, Marion County, Kansas. Burial in the "Soldier's Lot", Florence Town Cemetery, Marion County, Kansas. Served in Company E, 8th Kansas Infantry Regiment from September 1861 - January 1865. From Charles Stamp
My great-grandfather was mustered out of a volunteer regiment from Ohio. He is buried in Marion County.
My great-grandfather Marshall G. Freeborn served
with 3d Kansas Battery. He enlisted in Ohio with 25th Independent Light
Artillery attached to 2d Ohio Cavalry. Units werer assigned to Fort Scott, Kan.
and attached to 3d Kansas. He was discharged in December, 1865, and homesteaded
in Marion County. He was drowned near Emporia in 1895 and was returned to Marion
Co. for burial. He left a wife and 12 children. I am seeking information on his
units' wartime experiences and rercords.

William Robison born 13 July 1842 Columbiana
County Ohio. He served first with the state troops and served his full
term. He then reenlisted and served with the 2nd Indiana Cavalry. He died
at Peru, Chautauqua County Kansas on 24 June 1917. He is buried in the
Havana Cemetery, Havana Kansas. Jean

Geddes Weakley, born in Huntsdale, PA on 5/12/1837 was a carpenter until
he enlisted in Co H, 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry on 8/17/1861. He served as
Corporal and then Sergeant. His Commanding Officer was Captain William E. Miller
of Carlisle, PA, who "was the bravest man I ever knew", according to
James. James came out of the war with a scar on his face from a sabre cut and
three bullet wounds in one leg. He died on 9/28/22 at the age of 85 in
Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas and is buried in Fairview Cemetery. This
