Obituary of BENJAMIN KARST

Benjamin Karst, 94, died Wednesday morning (4 May 1983) at the Hoisington Hospital.

Born Dec. 11, 1888 in Barton County, he was a retired farmer, and a lifelong resident of Galatia.

He married Magdalena Dietz, Jan. 19, 1915 in Milberger. She survives him, living at the home.

Other survivors are two daughters, Viola Dumler, Russell, and Florence Veach, Ellinwood; two sons, Arthur, Galatia and Leon, Rush Center; a foster-daughter, Esther Nuss, Russell; a brother John, of Galatia; three sisters, Lena Radke, and Martha Dietz, both of Russell, and Anna Deines, Hoisington; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Robert Kreier officiating.
Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the church.
Friends may call at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, until 9 p.m. today, and from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church, Friday.
