Laura Margaret (Bell) Reed, 77, died May 9, 1994, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.She was born January 8, 1917, at Afton, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Franklin and Maude Belle (Angell) Bell. A longtime resident of the Medicine Lodge area, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, and a charter member of the Flying Eagle HDU.
On January 26, 1941, she married George Reed at Medicine Lodge. He died October 3, 1991.
Survivors include: two sons, Father Dennis L. Reed, Garden City, and Gary L. Reed, Medicine Lodge; three brothers, Oliver D. Bell, Nashville, and Elmer E. Bell, Kinsley; a sister Mary Hommertzheim, Medicine Lodge; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 1994, at First Christina Church, Medicine Lodge, with Bishop Stanley G. Schlarman and the Rev. Tom Walters presiding. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
Memorials may be sent to the church, in care of Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
