Mary Eliza (Kern) Hastings

Mary Eliza Kern was born in Lawrence county, Indiana, May 10, 1837; departed this life January 2, 1918, aged 80 years, 2 months and 23 days.

She was married to W. M. H. Hastings at Fayetteville, Indiana, March 9, 1852. To this union of whom survive her; Geo. W., Millard T., Nova S., Homer and Mrs. Emma A. Rowland.

She united with the Christian church while a girl and about forty years ago she became a member of the True Followers of Christ Church in which she held membership until her death.

Some time after marriage they moved to northern Missouri and coming to Kansas in 1866 and settling near Leavenworth and in 1892 moved to Wellington, coming to Sun City in 1884, where they have continuously resided.
