Dear Fellow Researcher, On July 28, 1887 Simeon R. Harvey died in Holton Kansas. I had written to the newspaper there several months ago, but have received no reply. Simeon was 23 years old. He was buried in Blue Springs, Gage, NE beside his mother. How did he die? Was there an obituary? Are there death records for Brown Co? I will be happy to send payment for any cost involved for copies, postage, etc. (or time) Please make arrangements first by e-mail. His early death is a mystery, and a response would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Barbara Harvey

I'm searching for information on the children of Noah M. KIMMEL and his wife Catherine MILLER who were married in Somerset Co., PA on 14 Dec 1854. They moved to Carroll Co., IL and then on to Brown Co., KS by 1871. Noah and Catherine had 5 children: Joseph F. b Jan 1856 PA, Mary Ellen b Oct 1857 PA, Hiram H. b Feb 1860 PA, Elizabeth b abt 1862 PA, and Catherine Jennie b abt 1865 IL. I have some information on the two sons, and a lot of information on Mary Ellen KIMMEL who married David Alfred KISTNER on 29 Oct 1874 in KS. I would like to know who the two younger daughters married, and what became of them. Elizabeth went by various nicknames: Eliza, Lizabeth, and Lizzie. The other daughter went by Catherine or Jennie. I have a photo of Mary Ellen with her daughter Katie (Kathryn b 1895) and mother, plus one other woman, believed to be one of her sisters. In the 1885 KS state census Catherine was living in Morrill, Brown Co. with Hiram H. 25, Eliza 23, and Jennie 19. I have no further info on the two younger daughers after this. Joseph F. KIMMEL married Ermina RATH, and Hiram H. KIMMEL married Ida Alice MYERS on 5 Jan 1887 in Morrill. Noah, Catherine, and Mary Ellen are buried at the Morrill cemetery.

I am searching for information on my great-grandfather, Daniel Moses Barnum.
He was born about 1835 possibly in Canada (although since he didn't read
or write, this could have been Kansas and a misunderstanding.) The first
official record we have found of him is his marriage in Van Buren County,
Arkansas to Nancy Potter in 1867 but it is known that he was previously married
to Elizabeth Gray around 1863 or 1864 (possibly also in Arkansas). They lived
in Arkansas and they had three children before she died born 1865, 1866,
1867. He and Nancy had three more children, one of whom was my grandfather,
Daniel Moses, Jr. Little is known of his life before he married Nancy Potter.
He reported that he was born in Canada on three censuses and in Missouri
on one. It is variously reported that he came from Kansas (or Canada) after
running away from home as a teenager. D. M. Barnum was of medium height
with black hair and blue eyes.
I hope you will post my query on your page. Please feel free to edit as needed.
Thank you very much.
