This is Nancy Ann Ford (Wheeler)(Servis). She died in the little bedroom right off of the livingroom of what was then the home of her son William Sumner Servis (last I knew the McBee family owned it) outside Rock, Cowley County, Kansas. I'm not sure whose handwriting that is on the bottom of the picture. It says "Mother" Mrs. N.A. Servis Taken in the years 1860 I remember well when taken. It really doesn't look like William's handwriting, but I do want to check on that. It is possible it's Aurelia's. I've got letters from her too, but she was quite elderly by that time, and handwriting changes over the years. |
