How to get from Gaeland Cemetery
to the Pyramid View
Cemetery:
- Starting
at Gaeland Cemetery,
go directly south on County Road 22 for 7 miles.
- Go
right and drive west on Road L for 4 miles.
- Turn
left and drive south on Road 14 for 4 miles.
- Turn
left and go east Road
H for 1 Mile.
- Turn
right and drive south on Road 16 for 3 miles. You
will be driving between the Pyramids or Monument Rocks, the national historic
site. (On the main page is a
link to this site.)
- There will be a B.O.D. (Butterfield
Overland Dispatch stage coach) historical marker on your left after you
cross the cattle crossing. This
is open range and cattle have the right of way. (See main page for picture.)
- When you get to County
Road E, turn right (There will be a sign
advertising the Keystone Gallery on this corner with a caution about
mud.) and drive west for 1 1\2 mile and you will see the Pyramid View
Cemetery on the south side of the road.
- This
is the end of the tour. You can
back track but we suggest you don’t.
- Instead,
to get to Highway 83, keep going west on County Road E. It will become a winding road heading
south and west into Logan County.
At the Highway 83 junction, the
Keystone Gallery is across the highway on the west, turn left to go to Scott
City or right to go to Oakley
which will take you back to Interstate 70.
