During the heart of the Great Depression President Franklin Roosevelt formed the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1933 to battle the unemployment and economic hardship in America. Many young men and veterans from the First World War joined this group. In Kansas there were fifty-two divisions of the CCC working on projects. This included three divisions working on the Lake Nemaha project. This web page will give you information on the CCC, the Old Lake Nemaha project, the Lake Nemaha project today, and the people who worked on it. |
