PLAINVILLE -- Alma A. Workman, 66, Plainville, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. Mrs. Workman was born Alma A. Roberts on Oct. 27, 1940, in Slagle, W.Va.
Survivors include two sons, Tim of Dodge City and John of Plainville; four brothers, Ray of Spencer, W.Va., Bill of Cadiz, Ky., Raymond of Holden, W.Va., and Vermal of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister, Ruth Lemons of Toledo, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Plainville. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Rooks County Health Center Building Fund or Hays Medical Center Home Health & Hospice, in care of Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 409 S. Cochran, Plainville 67663.

Jason Turpin, 25, Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Neb. He was born Feb. 8, 1982, in Toccoa, Ga. He worked at Clayton Homes, Plainville.
Survivors include his fiance, Ambree North, of the home; a son, Domonic Lee Turpin, Canton, Mo.; his mother, Jean Slater, Westpoint, Ill.; two brothers, Michael Turpin, Bowen, Ill., and Jeffrey Turpin, Westpoint, Ill.; a step-brother, Shawn Slater, Plainville, Ill.; and his grandmother, Betty Hulett, Hamilton, Ill.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg; inurnment is planned.

Barbara Ann (O'Quinn) Williams, 56, Lake Charles, La., died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Lake Charles Hospital. She was born April 5, 1951, in Palco to Fred and Esther O'Quinn. She was a graduate of Palco High School and Dodge City Community College with a nursing degree. She worked in the library at St. Margaret Catholic School.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald W. Williams, of the home; a son, Matthew W. Williams, Lake Charles, La.; her mother; a brother, Steve O'Quinn; and a sister, Julie Thrift, Nabunta, Ga.
Services were today at Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, La.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Damar.

Survivors include a brother, James of Stockton, Kan.; three sisters, Sinda Moores of Sun City, Ariz., Sheila Champion of Huntsville, Ala., and Shelly Jones of Ellinwood, Kan.; and her father, Robert "Buster," of Stockton.

Wilfred J. "Will" Garvert, 73, Salina, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007. Mr. Garvert was born May 10, 1934, in Plainville to Adam and Susan. He owned and operated Prairie Hotel and Restaurant and Garvert Home Services, both in Plainville. He also managed the Sherwin-Williams store in Hays and was a maintenance technician for Presbyterian Manor and the United Building, both in Salina. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rosalie Martha Garvert.
Survivors include his wife, Joan, of Salina; a son, Alan of Brookville; a daughter, Sonja Kaufman and husband Michael of Lawrence; two stepdaughters, Caryn Kennedy and husband Wade of Americus and Sharon Rogers and husband Bob of El Dorado; a brother, Howard of Plainville; three sisters, Evelyn Werth of Hays, Theresa Scott of Lakewood, Colo., and Madlyn Rietcheck of Olathe; three grandchildren, Mariah, Mikayla and Sophia Kaufman, all of Lawrence; five stepgrandchildren, Noelle Sliva and husband Lenny of Olathe, Nathyn Kennedy of Americus, Nick Rogers and wife Becky and Preston Rogers, all of Lawrence, and Aryn Rogers of El Dorado; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Ethan and Lucas Rogers, both of Lawrence.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plainville.
A vigil will be held and a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 409 S. Cochran, Plainville 67663.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lighthouse Church of God, Hill City. Burial will be in Hill City Cemetery.

Anna L. Bradley, 93, Hutchinson, formerly of Plainville, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Dillon Living Center. She was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Braman, Okla., to Frank F. and Lydia M. Iman Stocking. She married Dale J. Bradley on June 30, 1934, in Wellington. He preceded her in death April 27, 2005. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Lyndale "Brad" Bradley, Hutchinson; a daughter, Glena Dee Melting, Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson; graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday in Braman Oklahoma Cemetery.

PALCO -- Gilbert J. Balthazor, 83, Palco, died Sunday, July 22, 2007. Mr. Balthazor was born June 24, 1924, in rural Palco. He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alan.
Survivors include four sons, Michael of Wakeeney, David of Chesapeake, Va., Myron of Ottawa and Max of Palco; a daughter, Jana Zillinger of Logan; five sisters, Eunice Berland, Gladys George and Irma Kirkpatrick, all of Kansas, Joyce Wasinger of Colorado and Opal Hochanadel of Washington state; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Damar. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Reva Wyatt, 97, Stockton, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Brewster Place Retirement Community, Topeka. She was born Jan. 20, 1910. She graduated from Fort Hays State University with a master's degree in teaching. She married Wendell Wyatt. He preceded her in death. She was a kindergarten teacher and was named one of the nation's Outstanding Elementary Teachers in 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Arliss Hartmann and Joan Wyatt, both of Topeka; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Stockton; burial in Stockton Cemetery.

Raymond (Ray) W. Brault, 80, Missoula, Mont., died Friday, July 20, 2007, at his home. He was born June 10, 1927, in Damar to Viola Edward Brault and Armand Brault. He attended Palco schools. He married Wanda J. LaBarge on April 15, 1952, in Damar. He was an assistant attorney general with the U.S. Department of Agriculture until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps, serving near the end of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Alan Brault and Kelly Brault, both of Missoula; two sisters, Orlena O'Leary, Helena, Mont., and Mildred Angel, Flagstaff, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Gregory Brault.
Services were Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a brother, Gilbert Graf, Denver; three sisters, Bertha Goens, Conway, Ark., Eleanor Bell, Casper, Wyo., and Armella Gerber, Arvada, Colo.

Raymond D. Nicholson, 80, Plainville, formerly of Denver, died Monday, June 25, 2007, in Houston. He was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Oklahoma to P.L. and Bertha Nicholson. He graduated from Codell High School. He married Eileen Day on Feb. 24, 1948. She preceded him in death in January 2000. He later married Yvonne Smith in Lawton, Okla., in December 2006. He worked for Sohio Oil Co. in the Saline River oil fields(Ellis Co KS). He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Steve Nicholson, Denver, Darrell Nicholson, Caribou, Maine, and Gary Nicholson, Kerville, Texas; two brothers, Paul Nicholson, Little Rock, Ark., and Melvin Nicholson, Arizona; and five grandchildren.
Services were Monday in Denver.

Xavier Ambrose “Cocky” Desaire, 79, Hays, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Hays Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Damar to Maxim and Blanche (Tremblay) Desaire. He married Maxine Deringer on April 12, 1958, in Hill City. He worked for the city of Hays before retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Damar.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; and four nephews, William, Leon, Scott and Chris Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Damar; burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Brock’s North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday, both at the church.
A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Father Bill Kilian, 93, a priest of the Salina Diocese for 54 years, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Hill City. He was born June 4, 1914 to William and Margaret Kilian. He attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, earning a civil engineering degree in 1937. He was a veteran in the Navy during World War II. He was ordained to priesthood May 5, 1953, in Memorial Hall, Salina. He served parishes throughout the diocese, Hanover, Manhattan, Sharon Springs-Wallace, New Almelo, Mankato-Jamestown (Esbon), Grainfield and Selden-Leoville. He later substituted at Phillipsburg, Logan, Wilson, Dorrance. In 2004, he celebrated his 50th anniversary of ordination in Damar. He moved to Dawson Place, Hill City in 2006 and was still active in Masses at the home, or Hill City Parish.
Survivors include two brothers, George Kilian, Martinez, Calif., and Richard Kilian, Sidney, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Damar.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Additional visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. and after wake service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hill City.
A scripture wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
Additional services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Church, Chapman; burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, with military honors.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service, Friday at the church.

T. Leveta Ives, 86, Great Bend, formerly of Stockton, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Woodston to Dolphy Ray and Bertha (Weininger) Cooper. She married Cleo D. Ives on Jan. 20, 1944, in Stockton. He preceded her in death April 15, 1976. She was a former waitress and cook at K & V Cafe and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Gale Ives, La Crosse; a daughter, Tessie Ives, Hays; a sister, Rita Amos, Topeka; a half-sister, Murila Ray Cooper, Oklahoma; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Darwin Ives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Main Street Christian Church, Stockton; burial in Stockton Cemetery.

Dona Lee Olivera, 72, of Great Bend, died June 7 at Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born Feb. 2, 1935, at Hays, the daughter of Raymond Dewey and Ethel Helen Weaverling Wise. She married Rudolph Valentino Olivera on Oct. 6, 1984, at Santa Barbara, Calif. He died July 25, 1998. She was a self-employed housekeeper. She was a resident of Great Bend since 2005, coming from Santa Barbara, Calif.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Great Bend. She was also a member of AARP, Vintage Wheels Car Club, Great Bend, and Sierra Club of Washington, D.C. (fundamentalist for the environment).
Survivors include two brothers, Ray “Keith” Wise of Ojai, Calif., and Vance Wise and his wife Marilyn of Great Bend; two stepsons, Glen Olivera of Barbardio and Alan Olivera and wife Frances of Los Olivos, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Lee Anna Olivera of Los Almos, Calif.; four stepgrandchildren, four stepgreat-great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Ruby.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with Pastor Adam Wutka officiating. Interment will be at the Goleta Cemetery District in Santa Barbara. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1937. She married Francis Thummel on Aug. 9, 1939, in Plainville. He preceded her in death July 26, 1988.
Survivors include a son, Mike Thummel, Garden City; three daughters, Carol Thummel, Winston-Salem, N.C., Patricia Stang, Yukon, Okla., and Jane Pruter, Syracuse; a brother, Ed Toelkes, Winston-Salem, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Georgia Ann “Jo” Marcotte, 65, Palco, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born Nov. 12, 1941, in Topeka to George B. and Nora H. (Wilson) Land. She married Gail Frederick Marcotte on April 9, 1998, in Stockton.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Brock Elam, Stevensville, Mont.; a brother, Gary Land, Dillon, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Derek Elam.

Neola D. Vogts, 80, Hutchinson, formerly of Pratt, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born June 21, 1926, in Plainville to Leo and Clio Hazel (Bessey) Westhusin. She was a 1944 graduate of Codell High School. She married Norman H. Vogts on June 5, 1964, in Hutchinson. She worked for 20 years at Eaton Corp. assembly line.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Edmond “Eddie” Jordan, Colby, and Dean Jordan, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Pamela Kay “Pam” Lyle, Hutchinson; a brother, Daryl Westhusin, Wichita; a sister, Madonna Post, Wichita; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; private family inurnment in Emanuel Cemetery, Canton, at a later date.

Carla Monroe-Drummond, 39, Natoma, formerly of Plainville, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Hays Medical Center. She was born Jan. 14, 1968, in Kansas City, Mo., to Theron and Ruth (Carlyle) Monroe. She was a graduate of Plainville High School. She received her licensed practical nurse license from North Central Kansas Technical College, Hays. She married Robert Drummond on Sept. 20, 2006.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Quinton Bredemeier, Plainville; two daughters, Toni Monroe, Natoma, and Darla Monroe, Plainville; her parents, Plainville; a sister, Myra Monroe, Plainville; and her grandmother, Ione Monroe, Osage City.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merlin Monroe and Ruth Carlyle.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Moore-Overlease Funereal Chapel, Plainville; inurnment will follow services.

Eva Julia Hrabe Ingebritson, of Hays, died March 28, 2007. She was born January 24, 1913, in Rooks County, Kansas to Vincent and Anna (Novotny) Hrabe. Her parents died when she was six months old. Joseph and Katy Novotny of Zurich and Twin Mounds, took her into their family, and raised her. Her new family consisted of William, Rudolph, Milton, and Joe Novotny. Eva graduated from Hays High School and then earned her teaching certificate and had taught at the Hrabe School in rural Rooks County. She later became a loan officer at the First Inter-State Bank in Denver, Colorado, from where she retired. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and the Hays Medical Center Auxiliary, both of Hays.
Survivors include her son, Joel Ingebritson and his wife, Paula, of Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed, Milton, Vincent, Fred, and Stanley Hrabe.

(Galahen) Yohe. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1922 and received her teaching certificate at Fort Hays State University. She married Orbra Elsin Harrison on Jan. 8, 1924. He preceded her in death Feb. 12, 1972. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Mae Simpson, Plainville, and Lorna Kay, Hennessey, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Leroy Harrison.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Plainville ; burial in Plainville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., both at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at church.

Survivors include his wife, Winfield; two daughters, Jessica Ryan and Jerrica Gretzschel, both of Winfield; his mother, Arapahoe, Neb.; two brothers, Christopher Gretzschel, Hays, and Kurt Oliva, North Platte, Neb.; four sisters, Marenda Gretzschel, Alma, Neb., Kim Salpas and Kelly Cuevas, both of Grand Island, Neb., and Kerry Kinkade, Long Pine, Neb.; his step-grandmother, Cleota Oliva; and two grandaughters.

Martha Ann Baker Glover, originally from Rooks County in Northwestern Kansas, joined her heavenly father Monday evening May 14th, 2007. Her love of her family is legendary, extending from the family she and her beloved Bill raised, to their spouses and offspring, back to her extended birth family and to that of Bill’s. Her stated favorite hobbies were gardening and reading, but we all have seen that special sparkle in her eyes brighten up countless family gatherings. Born in 1925, Martha assisted her family in the rearing of her three sisters and six brothers on their humble farm in dust bowl Kansas through WWII. It was during WWII that she met and became engaged to her life mate Willie Neal Glover of Tennessee. They married shortly after his return from The Pacific and began their 61 years of successful wedded life. Martha and Bill established households in Long Beach and Anaheim, California, Idledale and Morrison, Colorado, Tucson, Arizona, Boise, Idaho, and finally in League City, Texas where they settled down for good in 1964 with their three children, Ann, Greg and Doug.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Mary Baker, younger brothers Mike, Alvin, Bruce and George and her younger sister Alice. She is survived by her loving husband Bill, daughter Ann Blackburn and her husband Chris, son Greg Glover and his wife Janet, and their youngest child Doug Glover. She is also survived by the grandchildren that gave her much joy, Nicholas, Amanda, Keith and Stephannie; her brothers Bill Baker of Boulder, CO and Harold Baker of Henderson, NV; sisters Ollie Woltman of Boulder, CO and Margie Wachs of Satanta, KS; brothers-in-law John Woltman and Fred Wachs; and sisters-in-law Ruth, Darlene, June and Annette. All of their wonderful extended families remain forever in Martha’s loving heart.
Funeral services are to be held at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas at 10:00AM Friday followed by internment at Houston National Cemetery at 2:30PM.

HAYS — Wade Hampton Renick Jr., 88, died Tuesday March 16, 2004, at Hays Medical Center. He was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Codell to Wade H. and Sylvia (DeLay) Renick. He married Vera Lytal on Nov. 27, 1937, in Hutchinson. He built the Hays Drive-In theater in 1948 and operated it for 24 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hays, and served as president of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship for several years as well as area adviser for Women's Aglow Fellowship. He and his wife served as missionaries to the Ute and Navajo people in the Four Corners area where they served for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Stephen W. Renick and wife Barb, Colleyville, Texas, a grandson Dirk H. Renick and wife Naoko, Arlington, Va., and a granddaughter, Rachel Marie Regan and husband Tim, Charlestown, Mass.; and a brother, Warren Renick and wife Lorena, Overland Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nan Snyder.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday. A second service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Shiprock, N.M.; burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Farmington, N.M.

Leo Emile Tremblay, 77, WaKeeney, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. He was born March 29, 1930, near Damar to Emile and Evelyn (Newell) Tremblay. He graduated from Damar High School and from Barber College, Wichita. He married Dolores (Dinkel) Tremblay on Jan. 13, 1962, in Hays. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a barber and worked for the Trego County Highway Department before retiring in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Jenifer Munoz, Fort Leonardwood, Mo., and Julie Dinkel, Garden City; two brothers, Jerome Tremblay, Hermiston, Ore., and Douglas Tremblay, Edwards, Colo.; four sisters, Leola Kerr, Derby, Jane Pfannenstiel and Diana Leiker, both of Hays, and Dorothy Barnett, Berryton; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Albert, on April 18, 2005.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney; burial in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney, with military rites by Fort Riley Color Guard.

Iva M. Roskilly, 89, Stockton, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at her home. She was born March 15, 1918, northwest of Woodston, to George J. and Eunice E. (Whittle) Schultz. She attended schools near Woodston and graduated from Stockton High School in 1936. She married Glen Roskilly on Nov. 21, 1937, in Stockton. He preceded her in death May 15, 1995. She worked at Evelyn’s Dress Shop and Phelps Drug Store, and retired in 1984 from the Maris Store, all in Stockton.
Survivors include two sons, Max Roskilly, Carlisle, Iowa, and Jamie Roskilly, Salina; a daughter Tammy Keltner, Mission Viejo, Calif.; a sister, Georgia Farr, Stockton; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Roskilly, on March 6, 2000.

Stanley Lee Richmond, 78, Plainville, formerly of Codell, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Rooks County Health Center, Plainville. He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Sunshine Mesa, Colo., to Forrest and Lois (Hackett) Richmond. He attended Codell schools. He married Mary Simons on Dec. 24, 1949, in Stockton. She preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2001. He owned and operated Plainville Car Wash and Laundromat for 18 years.
Survivors include a son, Allan Richmond, Codell; a daughter, Rita Avila, Wichita; a sister, Pauline Smythe, Plainville; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Shiloh Cemetery, north of Codell.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Natoma.

Anthony J. “Tony” Davignon, 62, Hutchinson, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1945, in Damar, to Simon and Alma Brin Davignon. He graduated from Damar High School in 1963. He married Juanita T. Lucero on Aug. 1, 1981, in Pueblo, Colo. He entered the U. S. Army in 1965 and served as a helicopter gunner in Viet Nam until discharge in 1967. He is a member at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7279 and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He did volunteer service by delivering meals for the soup kitchen, worked in prison ministry weekly, gave blood regularly for the Red Cross, drove the Veteran’s Administration van to Wichita taking veterans for medical appointments and once a week went to the Perpetual Adoration Chapel for prayer.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Jessica Shank and husband, Chris, Hill City, and Alicia Davignon, a student at Kansas State University, Manhattan; three brothers, Leo Davignon and wife, Lorna, Hutchinson, David Davignon and wife, LeAnna, Damar, and Ivan Davignon and wife, Darlene, Rapid City, S.D.; five sisters, Teresa Brosman, Springfield, Mass., Agnes Christmann and Mary Blasi and husband, Harold, all of Wichita, Wilma Cobb and husband, Ellis, Longmont, Colo., and Darlene Bugner and husband, Eugene, Great Bend; and a grandson, Calvin “Catfish Cowboy” Shank.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Francis.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church; burial in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, with military honors by the Honors Team from Fort Riley.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at funeral home.
A rosary will be at 8 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

He married Fern E. Bush on Feb. 8, 1937, in Damar. He preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1994. He owned and operated the Desair Recreation in Palco for 22 years.
Survivors include two sons, Claude Desair, Damar, and Ron Desair, WaKeeney; four daughters, Jeannette Roy, Stockton, Geraldine Roy, Aurora, Colo., Darlene Marcotte, Plainville, and Connie Fisher, Garden City; 21 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery, near Damar.

She later married William “Whitney” Kopczick on Feb. 15, 1980, Coal City, Ill. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1998. She was certified nurses aide at Hadley Medical Center for over 40 years.

(Bill was a 1953 graduate of Codell Rural High School, Codell, KS) He served in the U.S. Army and upon returning home, worked several jobs including: insurance, oil drilling and Boeing in Wichita, KS for three years, before finally beginning his career as a radio mechanic for TWA in Kansas City, MO, where he worked for 33 years until retiring in 1997. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, spending much of his time working in his yard and hunting. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rae Marlene (Thompson) Boller; three daughters, Debbie Rae Claytor and husband Richard, Danna Kay Batten and husband Michael, Denise Lee Snyder and husband Dean; one brother, Donald Joseph Boller and wife Louise and seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
