Carroll Dean COOK

Carroll Dean Cook, 81, Palco, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Trego Manor,
WaKeeney.
He was born Oct. 27, 1928, on the family farm south of Palco.
He graduated from Trego Community High School in 1947.
He married Mildred Joan Hamilton on Feb. 18, 1951, in Dodge City.
He was a farmer and rancher and also as a pumper. He was a member of the
Appaloosa Horse Club and the American Quarter Horse Association. �He holds the
national championship title for the Prairie Stump Race of 1963. �He also enjoyed
attending family activities.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home; three sons, David Dean Cook and
wife Zerell, Choctaw, Okla.; Evan Thomas Cook and Terry Herd, Coldwater; and
Walter Eugene Cook and wife, Karen, Palco; a daughter, Cynthia Joan Diehl and
husband, Doug, Chandler, Ariz.; a brother, Frank E. Cook, Sacramento, Calif.; 10
grandchildren, Nick, ZeDeanna, Sage, Hannah, Donielle, Charisse, Wade, Dustin,
Austin and Skylar; and three great-grandchildren, Cole, Bailey and Gavin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, �Olive �and Walter Cook; �one brother,
DaVern Cook; �and three sisters, Lois Gibson, Eunice Gibson and Naomi Frankamp.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. today at the Plainville Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at a later date.
