Shirley Belle (Hillman) Surface MARX
8-8-1928 — 1-22-2007Shirley was born August 8, 1928, daughter of Edgar and Jesse Hillman in WaKeeney, Kansas. At the age of five, she lost her father; her mother later married Dr. Gardner Surface. She graduated from Ellis H.S. and attended one year at the University of Colorado. She married Edward Marx, also from Ellis, in 1947. They had 3 children. Ed died in 1991.

She passed away peacefully January 22nd.
She is survived by Pam Massey and her husband Brad, Gordon Marx and his wife Lorie, Rayner Marx, her sister, Rosalind Surface, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
