1/28/1916 — 3/2/2008Alta Nixon Pinney, 92, North Platte, Neb., formerly of Ellis, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Linden Court, North Platte.

She was born Jan. 28, 1916, in Ogallah, to Isaac Newton and Emma Barbara Chestnut Nixon. She attended Ogallah grade school and was a 1934 graduate of Trego County High School.
She married Jack Elmo Pinney, on May 29, 1937. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1975. She was an aide at Good Samaritan Center.
Survivors include a son, Ray Pinney; two daughters, Nancy Pinney and Janice Broome; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be at a later date; inurnment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Ellis.
