* Jan 2003, Robert and Susan's g.grandson Earl Roberts writes: There is a very small marker on his grave that is normally covered by grass. His grave is next to his wife, Susan B. " Potter" Chitty, b. 6 Feb 1837, d. 7 Apr 1886. Susan was Matron during the Civil War and there is a marker commemorating this service, but dates of birth and death are not given. A modern marker, listing dates, was placed on the graves of Robert and Susan, by their granddaughter, Ethel "Chitty" Leighton.
