ASHER, DAWSON
Norma Dawson Nash  4/24/98    1.  Looking for death date for Washington Asher. Story within the family is that he died after being gored by buffalo after he shot it.  He is listed in the  1970 Kansas Mortality  List but I have a quit claim deed for Sarah Asher in Hardin County, Iowa in 1869.    A relative remembers seeing a grave stone for him near Vinning.  Have many references to Vinning, Kansas in other family research and with in the family stories.  Parts of Asher family moved back to central Iowa in 1870's.  Isabelle Asher Zufall (daughter of Washington and Sarah Asher)  and  Lewis Zufall  returned  to Vinning in 1879 and stayed thru the 1888. Why? Was there still family there? 2.  Looking for marriage date and info for Naomi Asher (daughter of Washington Asher and Sarah Price Asher) and Obediah Dawson.  Obediah Dawson was supposedly driving a oxen wagon on his way to California but met and married Naomi Asher in Kansas (late 1850's).  Found them with one child, in the 1860 census in Missouri. From there they moved back to LaPorte Co, Ind. then back to Iowa.  Any information will be appreciated and shared. Norma Dawson Nash 303.741.3353 6323 S Hanover  Ct Englewood, CO 801

BROADY
Darla Broady   4/9/98 There is an abandoned cemetery located behind a barn three miles east and one and one-half miles south of Mahaska.  The name is Hopewell Cemetery.  I am looking for the names of people buried there.  It is my understanding that the grave markers were removed by a land owner, when the people of the area ceased using the cemetery.  Our ancestors lived on property adjacent to cemetery and we feel that one of them was buried there before 1879.  Her name was Martha Broady.  Are there
any records available for deaths of people who lived in Washington Co. at that time? Thank you

HUSCHART, SEIFER, CYR
Kenneth Trumble - I am looking for the burial place of Mary Huschart. She was married to Frank Seifert in 1863 (note attached obituary of Frank Seifert ans lived on a farm 10 miles north and 1 mile west of Clifton, KS. This is very close to a "land markquot; called Clara. Clara had a church and a cemetery at one time which was located approximately 10 miles north of Clifton. The cemetery is actually located about one half mile east of where the church once stood. When I was visiting my folks on 4 July 1997, we went to the Clara cemetery, where I " think "Mary Huschart is buried. However, after carefully walking the cemetery twice, I could not find her grave marker. There are a number of grave markers in unreadable condition and some old tombstones sit in piles of fist sized chunks. I am thinking that perhaps her tombstone may be one of those ravaged by time. Would you have a list of the individuals who are buried in the Clara cemetery? If not, could you put me in contact with the person who would have a list of the individuals who are buried in the Clara cemetery? 2. I am also interested in obtaining a list of individuals buried in the Vining cemetery and the St. Joe cemetery, for the same reasons-just different individuals. Would you happen to have this information or be able to put me in contact with someone who does? 3. I am trying to find the obituary of Frank Zephryss Cyr. He was born on 26 Dec 1857 and died 3 Dec 1938, and is buried in the Vining cemetery. I have been obtaining microfilm of the Clifton paper for my other relatives through the inter library loan service; however, microfilm doesn't seem to exist for Clifton in Dec 1938. Do you have access to Clifton papers of this vintage? Any ideas? 4. I would appreciate any information you might provide in helping me obtain this information. If you have access to email, my address is trumblek@hotmail.com Thanks in advance for your help!
