Funeral Card for JOHN JACOB STRECKER, JR
John Jacob Strecker was born Feb. 6, 1884, in the Mt. Strecker community 12 miles southwest of Russell, and died Dec. 7, 1967, at Russell City Hospital. He was 83 years, 10 months and 1 day old.

The son of John Jacob and Katherine Elizabeth (Karst) Strecker, he was a lifelong resident of the County. He was baptized in early infancy and was confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) at Milberger, where he remained a member until his death.

On Feb. 25, 1906 he married Hannah Karst at the church. They had two children, Lothar B. and Anetha.
Mr. Strecker was a farmer many years served on school, township and church boards. In March 1954 Mr. and Mrs. Strecker moved to Russell. Mrs. Strecker died October 25, 1955, and Mr. Strecker made his home with his daughter.

On Dec. 16, 1956, he married Mrs. Eva Elizabeth (Voos) Reuber, at his church in Milberger.  He enjoyed good health until about five years ago when he had an injury followed by complications and the loss of a leg. He was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday morning prior to his death on Thursday.

Survivors are his widow; his two children, Lothar B. Strecker and Mrs. John (Anetha) Dunkel, three grandchildren, Palmer, Dennis and Norma all of Russell, also 9 great-grandchildren: two brothers, August F. and Ferdinand A. Strecker, both of Russell, and three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Nuss, Rt. 2, Mrs. Ida Ehrlich, Russell, and Mrs. John (Olinda) Morgenstern, Galatia; Also 7 step-children, August and Ray Reuber, Hutchinson; Mrs. Elma Bjurstrom, Leoti, Kan., Mrs. Lorina Smith, Woodland Hills, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Higgs, Broken Arrow, Okla., Mrs. Caroline Jones, Pennsville, N.J., and Leona Atkinson, Hays, Kan.; 16 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Agnes) Stettinger, Mrs. George C. (Amelia) Becker, Mrs. George (Lydia) Deines, and Mrs. William (Mollie) Michaelis.
A memorial service was held from Deines Brothers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, with final rites from Immanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger at 2:30 p.m. Rev. G. T. Nauman officiated. Mrs. Dean Aikens was organist and Ernest Wegele soloist.
Pallbearers were Armin Strecker, Jack Strecker, Roy Nuss, Gotfried Stricker, Jacob L. Voos and Paul Schwein.
Burial was in Milberger Cemetery.
Deines Brothers Funeral Home was in charge
