Microfilm

Microfilm is still used by OFGS volunteers and visitors. We have records available through microfilm that is not available online or even at other genealogy locations. OFGS made a point of purchasing records about Bourbon County and Fort Scott to possess as complete a record as possible for a great researching experience. We have many newspapers that are not on newpapers.com. It takes time to locate information on microfilm mainly because researches always seem to get sidetracked reading other articles. It is a fun way to teach children the old ways still work and for adults to reflect on events they knew as children.
