Donald Gene Swinford

Donald "Don" Gene Swinford, 51 died Oct. 25, 2007 at Kaw City, OK, along side his brother John Swinford Jr., doing what they loved best, fishing. He was born Feb. 26, 1956 at Ponca City, OK, the son of John K. and Christine "Chris" M. (Alltizer) Swinford. A longtime resident of Medicine Lodge, he was currently attending Alva Vocational School to become a computer Technician. He was a member of Duck’s Unlimited and Buck Masters.

Survivors include his father John Swinford Sr., Medicine Lodge, two sons, Robert Swinford and wife Lea, Pratt; Donald Swinford Jr. and wife Stephanie, Enid, OK; a daughter Kateri Young and husband Jesse, Medicine Lodge; 11 Grandchildren, Tre, Adam, Megan, and Sienna Swinford, Leslie, Katie, Tosha, and Gabi Swinford, Trisha, Joseph and Kate Young, two sisters Barbara Swinford, and Kellie Winchell, both of Medicine Lodge; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Christine, a brother Johnnie and a nephew.

Funeral Service was Thursday, November 1, 2007 at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge with Pastor Tom Walters presiding. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Memorial may be sent to Buck Masters in care of Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge.
