Funeral services for Permenas (Pete) Marshall Cole were held at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Coldwater, Kans., on Friday, February 4, 1966 at 2 p.m. Rev. Vernon A. Horney officiated at the service. Mrs. Hazel McMurray was the organist and Walter Smith sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Lord's Prayer."Pallbearers were John Booth, Doyle Heft, Clifford Blount, Ralph Deewall, Ralph Griffith, and Keith Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were Everett Bennett, Tant Hackney, Sam Lawrence, Cecil Wilson, Paul Seeley, and Monroe Tucker.
Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery near Coldwater.
Obituary Permenas Marshall Cole departed this world on February 1, 1966 at the age of 84 years, 12 days. He was born January 20, 1882 to Charles and Augusta Cole. He had one sister, Myrtle, who shared his childhood. He married Alice Klutz on May 24, 1903 at the home of his parents in the Salt Fork community. To this union there were three daughters and four sons born.
He spent most of his life in the Buttermilk community and was a member of the Antioch Methodist church.
His great love was outdoor sports and his family.
He is survived by his widow, Alice, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Hally Moore, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Mildred Atteberry, Mrs. Ruth Bramlett, all of Coldwater; two sons, Lloyd, of Medicine Lodge, and Herman of the home; also 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two sons, one was named Jacky and the other died in infancy.
