GORDON FERRIN ISSUES PAPER

Gordon Ferrin, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Ferrin, 502 N. Jackson street, Pratt, was elected from the advanced journalism class at Emporia State Teachers College to act as co-editor of the special edition of the college newspaper, The Bulletin, for a recent issue. Gordon is a junior at Emporia State.

Outstanding students in the advanced class in newspaper work are given an opportunity to edit an issue twice weekly at Emporia State under the direction of a salaried staff. Since Emporia State does not have a professional school of journalism, the classes are designed primarily for the training of teachers of high school journalism.

Ferrin's principal interests are in English, French, speech and history. He is working for the degree bachelor of science in education. He is a member of the French club. Ferrin graduated from Pratt Liberty high school in 1933.

Gordon is a grandson of Mrs. Arthur Ferrin of Wilmore.
