Mr. Lloyd Frost of Elkhart, Kansas, and Miss Mable Brown of Wilmore, were united in marriage at 7:30 Saturday evening, December 22nd, 1917, at the Baptist parsonage in Wilmore, Rev. A. W. Cameron officiating.Immediately after the ceremony they drove to Greensburg where they boarded a train for Elkhart where they expect to make their future home.
The bride had made her home in Wilmore for some time and was an employee of the Richardson Mercantile Company as a clerk where she made numerous friends who will all wish her a happy and prosperous married life. The groom is a young farmer and was a stranger to the writer.
A Pre-Nuptial Shower Twenty-five ladies were invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Behler last Wednesday afternoon for a surprise miscellaneous shower for Miss Mable Brown, whose wedding took place last Saturday evening.
The guests gathered at Mrs. Behler's and then Miss Brown was called and upon entering the Behler home she found it filled with the unexpected visitors.
Each guest was given a piece of paper and a lead pencil and requested to write her favorite recipe. The recipes were then presented to the future bride.
The next presentation was a long list of advice which had been written by the guests, most of whom had already had experience. If Miss Brown will only put the advice into practice she will soon make an ideal man of her husband.
"A flower love story" game was played in which Mrs. Patulla received the first prize and Mrs. Fred Robison the booby prize.
Delicious refreshments were served after which a large basket of packages were carried in and Miss Brown was requested to sit in the middle of the floor and untie each package which contained a lovely gift brought by the guests.
The guests departed wishing Miss Brown a long and happy married life.
