The Protection Post, December 26, 1918.

MRS. KENNETH GILBERT DIES

Mrs. May Avery Gilbert, of Coldwater died at her home in that city on Saturday morning of last week from influenza. Mrs. Gilbert was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom C. Avery, who were among the very earliest settlers of Comanche county, and has lived practically all her life in the county, as her father was a real pioneer in the early development of Comanche county. He was one of the men who were most active in the life and development of the county. Mrs. Gilbert having been a resident of the county for so long, was known to practically all the Protection people and her death brings a touch of sorrow and grief to numerous close friends in this city and community. Her husband, Kenneth Gilbert, also has a real estate and insurance business in Coldwater, as did her father, and he and Mrs. Gilbert were of the prominent people of the town. Besides her husband Mrs. Gilbert leaves one child, a little daughter. Protection friends unite in sympathy for the bereaved husband and daughter.
