Mrs. R. W. Hackney Dies at Hardtner

Services Held Last Sunday In Assembly of God Church

Funeral services for Mrs. R. W. Hackney, who passed away in the Hardtner hospital Wednesday of last week, were held in the Assembly of God church in this city and were in charge of Rev. M. M. Anspaugh, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Attica. Kans., and Mrs. Hackney's former pastor here.

Mrs. Martha Zerby and Mrs. Ferrel Guizlo sang "Will, the Circle Be Unbroken" and "The Last Mile of the Way," accompanied by Miss Maryann Crowe. There were many beautiful floral offerings.

The pall bearers were Dave Scholle, Frank McMillin, Cecil Wilson, Frank Adams, Rudy Shelit and John Bliss. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Mrs. Hackney was born in Clay county, Kansas, December 11, 1882, and departed this life June 2, 1948, at the Achenbach hospital, Hardtner, Kans., at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 22 days.

She was reared in that county until 1905, when she was united in marriage with R. W. Hackney at Clay Center, Kan., February 24, 1905. They remained in that city 11 years, moving to Comanche county in May, 1916, where she lived until her death.

Preceding her in death, were her parents, also three grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving in the immediate family is her husband, R. W. Hackney, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Evans of Wichita, Kans.; an adopted daughter, Mrs. R. Bruce Foree, also of Wichita; eight grandchildren, Tommie, Dixie, Charles, Jay, Sandra and Bobbie Evans and Nadine and Robert Foree; and one brother, Will Dalrymple; also four sisters, Mrs. Anna Davis, Mrs. Minnie Henson, Mrs. Myrtle Davis, and Mrs. Lydia Wood, all of Clay county; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The deceased was a member of the Assembly of God church uniting with that congregation in 1928 soon after the church was organized.

She was a woman of excellent character, besides being a kind and loving mother and wife, and was highly respected and loved by all who knew her.

Her friends were numerous and in the neighborhood where she always lived she will be greatly missed. The sorrowing relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.
