Death Comes to Mrs. Chas. Castle-Hower

Mrs. Charles Castle-Hower who with her family resided in Coldwater from around 1906 to 1927, passed away in Dallas, Texas, last month. Mr. Castle, who conducted a grocery business in Coldwater, died in this city in 1932. In June, 1949, Mrs. Hower made a ten days visit in Coldwater with Mrs. J. M. McCay and while here became ill and remained bedfast until her death.

We copy as follows from a Dallas newspaper of June 12:

"Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Castle Hower, 73, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Sparkman-Brand Funeral Home, with Dr. Wm. E. Elliot, Jr., pastor of Highland Park Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was made in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.

Mrs. Hower was born in Columbia, Mo. She came to Dallas from California six years ago and had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. E. R. Pryor. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, the order of Eastern Star, and the White Shrine of Enid, Okla.

She is survived by Mrs. Pryor and another daughter, Mrs. C. E. Crites, of Carlsbad, N.M., one sister and one brother."
