The McMoran brothers of this county received a telephone call from Chicago Thursday morning stating that their brother, Vernon G. McMoran had died during the night, the result of heart failure.He was about 43 years of age.
The body is being shipped to Coldwater for burial. It is planned to have the funeral services in the Presbyterian church in this city next Monday afternoon and burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery.
An account of Mr. McMoran's life will be published next week.

Funeral services for Vernon G. McMoran, who passed away unexpectedly in Chicago Thursday of last week were held in the Coldwater Presbyterian church at 2:30 o'clock Monday of this week and were in charge of the pastor, Dr. S. A. Fuller.
A mixed quartet composed of Karl G. Ehrlich, Gene Gates, Mrs. Helen Currier and Mrs. J. P. Scholle sang "God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again" and "Near to the Heart of God." Mrs. E. H. Gregg was the organ accompanist.
Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery near this city. The pall bearers were Doyle Heft, Fred Parker, George Dyer, Melvin Taylor, Milton Nokes and Richard Jarnagin.
Obituary. Vernon George McMoran, son of James E. and Giralda Jane McMoran, was born February 14, 1904, at Freedom, Okla., and departed this life, November 20, 1947, at the age of 43 years, 9 months and 6 days. His death was due to a heart attack. He came to Comanche county, Kans., in 1909 and attended school in Coldwater graduating from high school here in 1923. He served 4 years in the Navy, from November 1923, to November 1927, when he received an honorable discharge as Quartermaster 3rd class.
After spending nine months on a ranch, he took a position in Chicago as inspector for the Hammond Instrument Co. which he held until his death. He had just completed a course in Advanced Radio and Television in Northwestern University, Chicago.
He was united in marriage with Inez Ann Simmons on November 24, 1930. To this union were born two daughters, Barbara and Judith, who, with his wife, survive him. He is also survived by three brothers, Ray and John of Coldwater, and Walter of Wichita, Kansas; and by three sisters, Ada May of Eldorado Springs, Mo., and Mrs. Minnie Denney and Mrs. Blanche Fuller, both of Freedom, Okla. His parents, a brother, Frank, and a sister, Mrs. Maude Hecht, preceded him in death.
During high school days here Vernon took an active part in athletics and made many friends. He was an expert workman, a respected citizen and a kind husband and father.
His untimely death elicits the sincere sympathy of all.
