The Western Star, August 25, 1925.

MRS. W. E. NICHOLSON DEAD

Mrs. W. E. Nicholson, aged 36 years, 9 months and 29 days, died at 1:30 a.m. on last Monday, August 24, 1925, in the Ninnescah Hospital in Pratt, to which place she had been taken just one week before for medical treatment. Soon after she entered the hospital she underwent a critical surgical operation. Up to Saturday it was thought that she was getting along quite well. From that time on, however, she gradually grew worse.

The body was brought to this city for burial. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the home of Phillip Lenertz, father of the deceased, and were in charge of Rev. Byerly, pastor of the Christian church in Protection. Burial was made in Crown Hill cemetery by the side of Mrs. Nicholson's mother, who died on January 18, 1917, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Spillman, who died on March 22, 1909.

Emily Margaret Lenertz was born in Logan-tp., this county, on October 26, 1888. Her parents were among the early settlers in the county. On March 23, 1912, she was united in marriage with W. E. Nicholson. To this union four children were born - Mildred, aged 12; Mary, 9; Phillip, 7; and Roy, 6. Besides her husband and four children, Mrs. Nicholson is survived by her father and four brothers - Charles E., Joe, Phillip and Fred Lenertz, all of whom live in this county except Joe, whose home is in Wray, Colo. Two aunts, Christie and Katie Sutter, make their home here also. An uncle lives in Chicago. Two aunts and a few other relatives still live in Germany. All of the relatives named except those who live in Germany were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Nicholson was a faithful wife, a good mother and a kind neighbor. She will be greatly missed in the home. To those who mourn because of the loss of a loved one, the sincere sympathy of the entire community goes out. May their hearts be comforted by "Him who doeth all things well."
