Obituary

E. Loyd Orr, son of Mary and Winchester Orr was born near Putnam, Okla., on December 28, 1900, and passed away on March 12, 1963, at the Halstead Hospital. He grew to manhood at Muskogee, Okla. He moved to Liberal, Kans., where he met Kate Barnard and they were later married at Newton, Kans., on August 3, 1923. They moved to Southard, Okla., where their two daughters were born. In 1938 they moved to Coldwater, Kans., where he worked as Standard Oil Agent. Later he bought, with Earl Martin as partner, the Roberts Hardware Store. Then later, after he bought the Martin share, he and his wife managed the store until his retirement in June, 1962. They built a home in Halstead and moved in July of 1962.

He was a member of the Canton, Okla., Masonic Lodge, a former councilman and Mayor of Coldwater and a member of the Methodist church of which he was a trustee.

"Slim" loved the outdoors and he and his wife took many trips many times with good friends, as of which he enjoyed so much.

His cheerful attitude and his hearty laugh will be greatly missed by all his friends and especially by his wife, Kate, of the home; his daughters, Wilana Wasinger of Halstead, and Wanda Meyer of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his son-in-law, Felix Wasinger and Morris Meyer, and his devoted grandchildren, Jan and Jeff Wasinger.

He is also survived by two brothers and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
