Rex Delbert Parks, 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died November 6, 2007, after a prolonged illness.

The youngest of 10 children born to Julius and Belva (Findley) Parks, he was born July 21, 1926, southeast of Coldwater. He was raised on his parents' farm and attended grade school at Tin Top rural school. After graduating from Coldwater High School and earning his degree in business administration at Manhattan, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He married Janie Hall and they had four children, Roger, Debra, Kathy, and Tommy. They moved to Albuquerque, in 1955, where he made his living as an accountant and independent tax counsultant. He also lived in southern California for more than 20 years and spent five years in Seattle, Wash. In 1998 he returned to Albuquerque, where he retired a few years ago.

His survivors include: his wife, Mary; one son, Roger Parks of Dallas, Tex.; two daughters, Debbie Summerbell and her husband, Gary; and Kathy Parks of Albuquerque; two step-daughters, Chandra Gebelin and her husband Dan of Fullerton, Calif. and Lisa Grueter and her husband Mike of Seattle; six grandchilren; and three great grandchildren; one brother Raymond (Pete) Parks of Hutchinson; and one sister Dessie Stephenson of Woodward, Okla.; and Neice Elan Bryant of Coldwater.

His cremains were placed at Crown Hill Cemetery near Coldwater, Kansas.
