HOLDING OPEN HOUSE

The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Pepperd of Coldwater will be celebrated on Sunday, February 20, with open house from 2:00 to 6:00 o'clock at the home of their son, John Pepperd.

Mr. and Mrs. Pepperd have three children - Elizabeth Pepperd of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Rae McKee of Garden City, Kans., and John Pepperd of Coldwater. They also have six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

They are all expected to be at the John Pepperd home for the anniversary.

Captain C. C. Pepperd, one of the pioneer settlers of Comanche county, arrived here the first of the week on a visit with relatives. He is an uncle of Tom, Will and Nick Pepperd and of Mrs. J. Maple. Captain Pepperd settled in the eastern part of this county several years before the county was organized (about the year 1875) and lived here until about the year 1889. His home is now in Mineral Wells, Texas. It had been sometime since he was here, and he was surprised at the many changes in the way of improvements in the town and all over the county during the past fifteen years. He found quite a number of the old timers with whom he was well acquainted 25 years ago. -- The Wilmore News, June 3, 1915.
