E. C. Sabin who was a pioneer settler in Comanche-co., died on January 21 at his home in Enid, Okla. He was a resident of this county for about eleven years and during that time he won an enviable reputation for honesty and industry and numbered among his warm friends nearly all the people in the western half of the county. The Star, has been furnished with the following sketch of the life of Mr. Sabin.Edward C. Sabin was born in Portage-co., Ohio, on October 23, 1845. While still a small child, he went with his parents and sister and adopted brother to Ravenna, Ohio. He later went to Whiteside-co., Ill. In 1875 he was united in marriage with Miss Emma J. Hopkins. To this union were born six children, three of whom, Verne J., Bertha and Edna, have preceded their father in death. About 1886, Mr. Sabin came with his family to Comanche-co., and settled a few miles north of Protection. They were among the best known and most highly respected citizens of our county. About 24 ears ago the family moved to Garfield-co., Oklahoma, and in 1909 to Enid, Okla., where they resided at the time of Mr. Sabin's death on January 21, 1921. Funeral services were held at the University Place Christian Church of which he had been a member for about ten years. Interment was made in the Enid cemetery. Mr. Sabin leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Mrs. Emma J. Sabin; two daughters, Mrs. N. O. Kline of Wichita, Kans., and Mrs. O. Moore of Enid; a son, Raymond L. Sabin of Wichita, Kans.; eight grandchildren; an adopted sister, Mrs. Lewis Forward of Mt. Hope, Kans.; and a nephew, Otis Richards of Prophetstown, Ill. At the time of his death Mr. Sabin was 75 years, 2 months and 30 days old.
