Mrs. Anna Floreta Six, whose funeral was held in this city on Wednesday of last week, was born April 19, 1861, in Decatur, Ill., and departed this life in Las Animas, Colo., January 24, 1944, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 5 days.On November 30, 1879, she was united in marriage in Sedgwick, Kans., with John Thomas Six. To this union were born nine children, one of whom died in infancy. The six sons and two daughters surviving are: Wilson Six of Nampa, Ida., Hugh S. Six of Zenda, Kans., Andrew J. Six and Mrs. Ed Fleming of Coldwater, Kans., Charley W. Six of Newton, Kans., Henry Six of Hutchinson, Kans., Albert R. Six of Green Forest, Ark., and Cora M. Six of Las Animas, Colo. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Mrs. Six had made her home with her daughter, Cora M. Six of Las Animas since the death of her husband, who passed away September 8, 1939.
When a young woman Mrs. Six lived near Topeka and Ottawa, Kans., coming to Comanche county in 1900. In 1907 the family moved to Wichita and for the past 17 years she had made her home in Stafford, Kans. Mrs. Six was a good neighbor, a faithful wife and a devoted mother.
