L. E. SMITH DIES AT BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS

Funeral services for L. E. Smith, 66, of McAllen, Texas, were held at the Virgil Wilson Mortuary chapel at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 1963. Rev. John Smith of the First Christian church officiated.

Mr. Smith was a native of Hartford, Kans. He had lived in McAllen for the past 30 years. He was a barber by occupation, opened a shop in 1932 and retired in 1961. He was a member of the First Christian church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura E. Smith; sons, Richard Smith of Sunnyvale, Calif., Horton Smith of San Jose, Calif., Lloyd Smith of Houston and Keith Smith of Fort Worth; two brothers, Elmer Smith of Hiwasse, Ark., and Ernest Smith of Eureka, Kans.

Burial was in valley Memorial Gardens under direction of Virgil Wilson Mortuary.

Pallbearers were S. W. Dunn, G. C. Musch, R. B. Hoff, Herb Andrus, Jim Day and Norman Baker. Honorary pallbearers, Bob Elmore, Harry Nelson, Chuck Denning, Norman Buescher, Elmer Reichert, George Weiderhold, O. W. Cox and Bill Bente.

Mr. Smith was a former resident of Coldwater, having done barbering here in the early 1930's.
