Mrs. Clifford Smith Dies Here Monday

As the Star goes to press word has been received that funeral services will be held at the Christian church on Thursday, January 15, 1976, at 10 a.m. for Opal Smith, 75, who passed away at the Comanche County Hospital on Monday, January 12, 1976, at 10 p.m.

Burial will be in the Crown Hill cemetery in Coldwater.

Mrs. Clifford (Opal) Smith was born to Robert Wiley and Anna Bell Cook on October 20, 1900 in Newman, Ill. She moved with her parents to Woodward county, Oklahoma where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Clifford Smith on July 29, 1915, at Buffalo, Okla. they made their home in the Paruna, Okla., neighborhood until 1933 when they moved to Coldwater, Kans., where she resided until her death on January 12, 1976.

To this union were born six children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn.

Mrs. Smith had been a member of the Coldwater Christian church for 31 years. She was a devoted wife and mother who showed love by caring for her family.

Those who will miss her most are her husband, Clifford, and children, Darrell, Bonnie Ward, Coldwater; J. K., Anthony, Kans.; Clarence, Ponca City, Okla.; and Merrianne Haun, Arvada, Colo.; also 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Sisters are Olive Harbison, St. Helen, Ore.; Geraldine Ball, Selman, Okla.; brother, Wade Cook, Selman, Okla.
