Mrs. Wm. Wegand Buried Here Monday

Mrs. Wm. Wegand, a resident of Coldwater for 20 years or more, passed away last Friday in Wichita following a heart attack. Since she moved to Wichita several years ago, she had been making her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Sooter in Wichita. Death occurred during the brief interval when Mrs. Sooter went to bring her two daughters home from school.

Mrs. Wegand was born and reared in the Zenda community. Her husband passed away about three years ago and was buried in Crown Hill cemetery.

A graveside service for Mrs. Wegard was held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, January 23, in Crown Hill cemetery where burial was made by the side of her husband. The service was in charge of George Brown, pastor of the Coldwater Christian church.

Mrs. Wegand was a kind and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by one daughter, Henrietta Sooter, and two granddaughters. The Star is without further details of her life.

William S. Wegand, husband of Mary Myrtle (Cox) Wegland. His obituary gives her full maiden name.
