Roy Wright

The Wilmore News, August 12, 1927.

CHILD STRICKEN WITH RHEUMATISM

Roy Wright, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright of the East Powell district, is suffering from a bad case of inflammatory rheumatism. Roy was helping his father clean up the school house Thursday and bumped his leg on one of the seats. It made him lame at the time and each hour he seemed to grow worse. A Coldwater physician was summoned early Sunday when the boy became delirious. The boy shows a slight improvement, but his leg is still badly swollen. He is not yet able to be out of bed.

CHILD IS IN HOSPITAL

Roy Wright, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright of the East Powell neighborhood, was taken to the Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Thursday morning of this week. While assisting his father with some work at the school house about three weeks ago the child injured his leg on a school desk. What was thought to be inflammatory rheumatism set in and the little fellow has been confined to his bed since. Recently an x-ray picture showed that the bone was affected and, acting on the advice of a physician, he was taken to Wichita for treatment.
