TWO YOUTHS KILLED IN MOTOR ACCIDENT SUNDAY

Kenneth Hill of Coldwater and Vern Dean Schultz of Greensburg were both killed when the car in which they were riding ran into a horse on Highway No. 1 about 8 miles south of the county line.

The accident occurred about midnight Sunday night while the boys were coming to Coldwater from Greensburg. The car hit the horse with such force that the horse was cut completely in two.

They were found almost immediately after the accident and rushed to the hospital in Dodge City. The Schultz boy died before reaching there and Hill died a few hours later without recovering consciousness.

Kenneth Hill was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hill, a ranchman in Kiowa. Kenneth attended school in Coldwater. Vern Dean Schultz was a nephew of Dr. Schultz of Coldwater.

Stray cattle have caused several accidents and near accidents in this vicinity within the past few weeks. If the highways are to remain safe to travel on, all cattle must be kept fenced in.
