Email from Kay Koger to Jerry Ferrin on 03 November 2003: Seeking Copies of Photos of Comanche County Schools
Mr. Ferrin,
I manage a Measurement Incorporated scoring center in Coldwater, Kansas for Hank Scherich of Durham, NC. As part of our entry decor, we have begun compiling a collection of enlarged, framed photos of old Comanche County schools. Phyllis Scherich emailed me a link to your web page that contains a picture of an old Wilmore school. I would be very interested in acquiring copies of that picture and any other old pictures of county schools you may have. I use Douglas Photographic Imaging in Wichita to produce negatives and enlargements of old photos for me, and I sincerely hope you have some old photos you would be willing to copy for a fee. I hope to hear from you soon.Kay Koger, Site Manager

kkoger@measinc.comNote by J.F.: I've given Ms. Koger all the suggestions I can think of in regard to locating photos of old schools in Comanche County. Please contact her directly if you have photos you'd be willing to share. I'd also appreciate having copies of any such photos for use on this website. Thanks!

There are enough children in Coldwater between the ages of 6 and 16 to furnish material for a first class school this winter. We understand a school will be opened here next Monday. So mote it be. -- The Western Star, November 13, 1884.This RootsWeb website is being created by Jerry Ferrin with the able assistance of many Contributors.
