Mrs. Atkenson Passes Away

The body of Mrs. Atkenson was brought to Protection Wednesday afternoon for burial from Tucumcari, New Mexico, where they had taken her in hopes that her health might be restored. She had been a sufferer for two years with tuberculosis and her loved ones who watched her so closely had feared for the worse.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and two small daughters, other relatives and many friends.

Obituary

Reatha Emnily (sic) Snapp was born in Independence county, Ark., January 18, 1876, died in Tucumcari, New Mexico, October 17, 1915, being 39 years, 8 months and 29 days. Was united in marriage July 25, 1900 at Huron, Mo. to William Atkenson, to this union born three children, Opal, Leora and Jessie B. one child died in infancy. She united with the M. E. church at Argonia, Kans., 1904 and has lived a consistent Christian. She was buried Wednesday afternoon, October 20 at Protection, Kans. The services were conducted at the Methodist church in charge of Rev. Mawdsley and N. R. Brumley of Charleston, Okla., who preached the sermon.
