Llewellyn Edward Baker

Llewellyn Edward Baker, 87, died Aug. 10, 1998, at his residence near Wilmore.

He was born Oct. 12, 1910, at Coldwater, to Llewellyn E. and Catherine (Roderick) Baker. A lifetime Comanche County resident, he was a retired farmer and stockman.

Baker attended Wilmore Grade School and was a 1929 graduate of Wilmore High School. Memberships include the Wilmore United Methodist Church, Wilmore Lions Club, and Comanche County Farm Bureau.

On Nov. 23, 1935, he married Ruth Wood at his parents' home at Wilmore. She survives.

Other survivors include one son and his wife, Travis and Gail Baker of Protection; one daughter and her husband, Mary Helen and Larry Smith of Alma, Ark.; and three grandchildren, Erin and Lane Baker and Caleb Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rod Baker and Nicholas Baker, and one granddaughter, Adrien DeAnn Baker.

Memorial service was Aug. 12, 1998 at the Wilmore Federated Church, with Rev. Kent Little presiding. Burial was at the Wilmore Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Wilmore City Fund in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Box 417, Coldwater, Kans. 67029.
