The people of Wilmore were again stricken with grief and sorrow Wednesday when the sad news came of the passing of another one of the young men of the community.Floyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Barber, died early Wednesday morning in the Anthony Hospital after an illness of several weeks duration.
He was one of Wilmore's promising and popular young men and had a host of friends who loved and honored him for his cherry disposition and noble upright character.
Floyd always had a smile and cheery word for everyone with whom he came in contact and always had some witty remark to make others forget their cares and smile.
He graduated from the Wilmore High school after which he attended Ottawa University, and later the State Teachers College at Alva, Okla. He was a brilliant student and was popular with his schoolmates. He had been hired to teach school in Kiowa County this winter.
Floyd has been operating the Fairmount cream station for some time.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his father and mother, one sister, Maxine, two brothers, Arthur of Wilmore, and Oscar of Cunningham, a host of other relatives and friends.
The body was brought to Wilmore Thursday and funeral services were conducted from the Baptist Church Thursday afternoon.
Internment was made in the Wilmore cemetery.
